British Planetary Science Conference, 13 – 15 January 2020

The 2nd British Planetary Science Conference was held in Oxford, 13-15 January 2020.

Following a format like that of the inaugural BPSC, held in Glasgow in Dec 2017, BPSC 2020 was a three-day event consisting of thematic sessions coveri

ng the breadth of planetary research in the UK. It incorporated the UK Planetary Forum’s Early Career Scientist networking event and also includes a community Town Hall event intended to give the community a forum for discussion with representatives of our principal funding agencies STFC and UKSA, and community representation organisations the Royal Astronomical Society (RAS), the UK Planetary Forum (UKPF), and the SPace Academic Network (SPAN). It was attended by  165 researchers from 23 research institutions in across the UK; over 55% of attendees were “early career researchers”, meaning they were PhD students or < 1 year post-PhD.
